Class Offerings and Descriptions


Ground Rules for Classes

Any book or pattern required for a class is 20% off after payment for the class fee has been received.

2006 NEW Class Rules and Conditions

Select the classes you are interested in, then stop by the shop there will be a notebook with a page for each class divided in morning, afternoon and evening time slots. Then sign up when you are willing to take the class. When I have three people signed up, I will schedule the class. Once a class is scheduled you must pay prior to the class starting. There will be no refunds after the class begins. There is a minimum of three and a maximum of six people for each class, unless otherwise noted.

If you have any suggestions for a class, let me know. I will consider them.

 Quilting for Beginners

Learn to select fabrics for quilt patterns, and how to cut and assemble pieces. These skills will prepare you for the joys of becoming a quilter!

Level: Beginner Quilting

Four  week commitment                           $48 + supplies

 Quilt As You Go

Learn to do the quilting as you put your strips together. Allows you to do a larger project on your home machine. The selected project will be on display in the shop.

Level: Intermediate Quilting

Four  week commitment $48 + supplies

 One Fabric Lone Star

Will be using “Easy & Elegant Lone Star Quilts”. It uses large scale prints  without chopping them into tiny pieces. This goes very quick and you can determine your finished quilt size.

Handbags

Create a handbag with a style all your own using Lazy Girl patterns. Patterns may vary from class to class, so please ask when registering.

Level: Basic Sewing Skills

Two week commitment                           $25 + supplies

 Sewing for Beginners

Finally learn the basics! Instruction will include pattern reading and layout, as well as project construction. This class is open to children 9 years old and up. Machines are available on site to use.

Rag Time Throw

This is a great beginner or kid’s project. You will be quilting each block before assembly.

Learn how to construct a personalized box for that perfect gift. Also a fun, creative project for children.

Level: Any, no sewing skills required

 Paper Piecing

Simple paper piecing class using “Tea Time Book. In one session you will do a small tea cup using the paper piece techniques.

Level: Intermediate Quilting

One week commitment $12+ supplies

 Gift Boxes and Bows

Learn to construct a personalized box for that perfect gift, and top with a decorative bow.

Level: Any, no sewing skills required

One, Two hour class             $18 + supplies

 Thangles

Learn to make perfect triangles using Thangles.

Level: Beginner +

Lone Star

Assemble a  perfect Lone Star without angles or templates. This class will use Quilt Smart method.

Level: Intermediate Quilting

French Braid

Will be using the book “French Braid Quilts” which makes  a contemporary quilt with a gradation of colors. A foolproof quilt. There are very few things in this quilt that line up. Great Project for a step beyond beginner. It goes very quick.

  Chenille Throw

Learn to use layers of fabrics to create

chenille blocks inter-mixed with plain quilt blocks. This is a quick and easy project.

Level: Beginner to Intermediate Quilting

Two week commitment                           $24 + supplies

 Build a Jacket over a Sweatshirt

This is a technique that uses fat Quarters to make a jacket with a sweatshirt as the foundation. It is simple and elegant. Get ready for fall.

Level: Intermediate

 Rotary Cutting and Other Tools

This is an instructional session for making that perfect cut. Please bring your cutter, mat & ruler.

Level: Any

One, Two hour class $15

 Sew For Children

This is an instructional session for children 9 years old and up. Covers basic sewing skills and will finish a project. Machines are available to use in the class. Basic supplies are required.

Level: Beginner

Best Scheduled as tutor  at $12.00 per hour.

 On Block Wonder

Learn to create this stunning kaleidoscope effect all out of one fabric.

Level: Intermediate Quilting

Turn a ho-hum sweatshirt into an unique jacket, that has style and flare.
